ProPlate® Makes Top 10 Finalists Chosen for Medical Device Supplier Innovation Contest

UBM Canon is looking to identify the most innovative exhibitors at MD&M East and give them the attention they deserve. The Supplier Innovation Challenge is a contest that will acknowledge the most innovative products, services, and technologies developed in recent years by exhibitors at MD&M East, held June 9–11 in New York City.

Finalists in the contest will be honored at the show as well as on UBMCanon’s industry-leading Qmed and MD+DI websites and newsletters. Finalists will also get included in a Supplier Innovation tour at MD&M East that will drive more people to check out their technology at the event. The winner will also be announced during the show.

Professional Plating’s Medical Device Coating Innovation is Torq-Lok™

Torq-Lok™ is a unique technology applied to braided catheters for enhanced performance. Preliminary testing of Torq-Lok™ compared to noncoated braids demonstrated a range of 30–66% greater torque response, a 66% increase in torque to failure, and a 90° twist increase. Torq-Lok also maintains flexibility, increases kink resistance, improvespushability, and constrains radial forces while minimizing elongation. The need for annealing the braid ends after manufacturing is eliminated because the process fuses them together preventing fraying. (Braids used in test: 4 French OD, 60 pic count, 12 inches long, 2-over-2-under-2 pattern, 0.001 x 0.004-in. wire. Results may vary.)
