Electroplating - Statement of Environmental Responsibility
As a society, we live in tension between wanting to be the best possible stewards of our environment and wanting to avail ourselves of technology.
We have learned how to make good and great things. Things that save lives, prolong lives, make our existence more comfortable or meaningful. We've learned how to make things that we enjoy.
As our economy becomes more global, we are witnessing a general and gradual increase in the overall well being and prosperity of all mankind. And while a small, but vocal group would advocate that we turn the clock back on progress, the vast majority of us choose progress over regress.
Electroplating is widely regarded as a "necessary evil", given the types of by-products that the electroplating process produces. Yet it is a vital and irreplaceable component of our technological progress. The industry's vitality and value are evidenced by the more than 4000 independent electroplating companies in the USA and those many again, elsewhere in the world. Were the industry not valuable to mankind, our capitalist system would not protect an unnecessary existence.
